This podcast explained that what benefits and limitations are involved in using digital media to facilitate student learning and engagement. This podcast is divided into 4 parts. First of all, I will tell you about introduction. Second, what benefits involved in using digital media to facilitate student learning and engagement, Third, what limitations are involved in using digital media to facilitate student learning and engagement. Finally, I’m going to tell you about my opinions and conclusion.
I learned digital learning through the making social media unit, both of benefits points and limitations points. Most people are admitting digital media leaning for students to have positive effects. This is because boosting interaction and collaboration, accessibility of learning resources beyond the classroom, and the development of online communities consisting of users with common learning interests and experiences. In addition, people are able to gain new knowledge. On the other hand, digital media has some limitations and dangerous. According to Walsh (2018), some bad people are using these technologies for harmful purposes. It is dangerous if people do not know how to protect themselves when using digital devices. While learning with digital devices, teachers need to teach students how dangerous digital devices are, especially for young people. Also, it is important to write handwriting for students. If students use both digital media learning and traditional learning well, their lives will be better.
I tried to speak English clearly and slowly, also I emphasized where I talked about the important parts. Unlike speaking face to face, through the podcast makes it difficult to hear the sound. This is point that I said my experience about digital media to the podcast. Also, I inserted two music as opining and ending and in the middle before the beginning of a brief greeting and introduction by using creative commons licensed music. Opining and the middle are same song. In doing so, podcast becomes clearer and easier to understand. I chose pop and cute songs for the ending. Music makes the audience more interested and makes it fun. I do not insert music while I am speaking, because I wanted people focus my presentation. Moreover, stopping music makes it easier to understand when it begins. It is able to adjust the attitude of the audience, and they will listen more intensively.
I have not known ever to make podcast by myself. I thought that it is really difficult to make, but actually it was not too difficult. I could gain good experience trough the making podcast. I often listen podcast to improve my English listening skills. This time, when I became deliver, I noticed some points. Most important thing is speaking with emotion. Besides, It is also important to speak clearly and appeal to the audience. I made a podcast with these in mind. Also, if someone wants to deliver podcasts, there are things that need to be taken care of. Remember that people around the world are listening. People should not say anything that makes someone uncomfortable. If people keep them in mind, they are able to make a meaningful podcast.
